Thank you for your interest in learning more about my campaign for Superior Court Judge in Napa.

I am running for Judge so that I can give back to the legal system by employing the expertise I have gained from decades of trial work in our Superior Courts, and insuring that justice is done fairly and impartially, and always consistent with California law.  I have lived in St. Helena for many years and look forward to serving the people of Napa County for a long time.

I spent forty years practicing law, focused on fighting for the rights of injured people, families, and small businesses. While I won many verdicts, the most satisfying were those whose results created positive change for my clients – a goal I look to complete as Napa County Judge. I successfully represented a variety of small businesses in contract negotiations, as well as litigation in the areas of product liability, landowner liability, and real estate. Serving both individuals and businesses has given me a deep understanding of the law and its ability to protect those who have been wronged.

In 2009, I won a landmark case in the Court of Appeals confirming the full responsibility of a landowner for maintaining elevators in a safe condition, despite using an elevator service company (see Koepnick v. Kashiwa Fudosan America, Inc. at 173 Cal.App.4th 32).
